DECEMBER 14, 2016 – PITTSFORD, NY - Isoflux Incorporated, a private technology development company, announced today that it had executed a strategic license providing Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX) access to the Isoflux-patented VisTa coating technology.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Isoflux developed the coating technology to improve the visibility of interventional devices and implants when imaged under fluoroscopy, and it was specifically developed for devices made of nitinol which do not show up well under x-ray.  Since many of these devices are placed using minimally invasive techniques under x-ray guidance, the visibility can be an important factor in the ease of the procedure.

“Isoflux is extremely pleased to announce this transaction,” said Isoflux CEO John Lanzafame.  “Boston Scientific is a world leader and pioneer in minimally invasive procedures.”

Mr. Lanzafame added that this is a non-exclusive license and Isoflux was in discussion with other potential partners for use of the VisTa coating technology on different medical devices.

VisTa is a nanostructured tantalum coating developed and patented by Isoflux, incorporating the Isoflux inverted cylindrical magnetron technology.  More information on the VisTa coating is available on the Company’s website here
